Roma Traditional Dance & Gypsy Show Dance
KATJUSHA KOZUBEK is a German singer, dancer and actress with Russian, Polish and Roma roots. Since 1984 she has been successful on the European circuit with concerts, readings and theater performances. She has become known also through her articles about the culture of the Roma and Sinti, commonly known and referred to as Gypsies, in a variety of publications, in radio and television. In 2004, on the behest of her fans, she began to offer a couple of dance workshops in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in order to publicize the dance culture of the Eastern European Roma-Gypsies, their culture and their history, in Western Europe and to facilitate, in her way, between the cultures in which she is at home.
Nowadays KATJUSHA organizes, aside from her teaching at her project of the ROMANY DANCE SCHOOL, an all year round workshop program with Roma dance instructors. In addition to that further education for Roma with ambition in didactic, methodology and organization of lessons and also offers stage training for young Roma artists. Weekly courses, the „GYPSY DANCE CARAVAN”, as well as dance and congress tours to Roma festivals are also part of the offer.
In the ROMANY DANCE SCHOOL ENSEMBLE congregate ever again new students with Roma and other professional artists in order to present to the world in poetic sequences the international art of dance, lyrics and music of the Roma, the Sinti and other groups of Gypsies.
The ROMANY DANCE SCHOOL PROJECT meanwhile attracts people from all over the world and is open to everybody.
